‘Ice bucket challenge’ trademark applications have been withdrawn

The worldwide and in also in Estonia popular ‘ice bucket challenge’ trademark applications have been withdrawn.

The ALS Association (ALSA) is a non-profit organisation which is engaged in raising awareness about lateral sclerosis disease and fundraising had applied to protect these trademarks. The money donated within the challenge will go to the organisation. The applications were withdrawn after the disapproval of the initiators of the idea who claimed that the ALSA had nothing to do with this challenge. ALSA said that they wanted to protect the good ice bucket challenge charity idea before somebody else did it.
